  • I understand that as a volunteer for TRI-COUNTY OFFICE ON AGING, I could have access to privileged information about the clients/volunteer stations I am serving, including medical, insurance, and other confidential/personal data.

    I agree to restrict my use of such information to the performance of my duties. I will not discuss any case or mention any client’s/station’s name, or otherwise reveal or disclose information pertaining to any client, except when in direct contact with other federal, state or local agencies, and then only for the purpose of assisting the client/station.

    I hereby acknowledge my obligation to respect the privacy and the confidentiality of the information pertaining to clients/volunteer stations and to exercise good faith and integrity in all dealings with the volunteer station(s) I serve, their clients and their personal information.

    I also understand that any unauthorized use or disclosure of information pertaining to a client or a volunteer station may result in my immediate suspension and/or dismissal and may subject me to civil liability for breaching the client’s/station’s right to privacy.

  • Home Delivered Meals on Wheels Volunteer Driver

    General Responsibilities

    Responsible for picking up food from designated locations and delivering to a client’s home according to the information on a route sheet.

    Essential Volunteer Functions:

    (Reasonable accommodations will be provided, if necessary, for individuals with disabilities who can perform the essential job functions)
    • Works under the guidance of the Volunteer Coordinator of their delivery area
    • Pick up food from designated specified locations and deliver to clients homes
    • Provide accurate and timely delivery to clients on a designated route
    • Communicate directly and immediately with office staff any concerns regarding clients
    • Communicate with office any concerns about scheduling or difficulties with deliveries, ex. The route has changed and it now takes me twice as long to deliver
    • Complete all required paper work on the route sheets and return to the clipboard and return coolers and hot bags to proper location

Training on the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy & Security Rule and the policies and procedures is a prerequisite for this position. Employees and volunteers who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy & Security Rule will be subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment or volunteer privileges.

  • Dining Site Volunteer

    General Responsibilities

    Assists at Senior Dining Site Locations to provide meals to participants. Serves food and establishes positive relationships with program participants.

    Essential Volunteer Functions:

    • Helps prepare the site for delivery of food from the Central Kitchen.
    • Sets up food stations, greets participants and provides a welcoming environment.
    • May be asked to ensure that appropriate food temperatures and presentations meet standards during meal service.
    • Follows procedures for proper handling of food, equipment and money.
    • Maintains accurate records.
    • Follow cleanliness guidelines throughout the meal service. Cleans the eating, servicing and cooking areas.

  • Kitchen Production Volunteer

    General Responsibilities

    Responsible for food preparation and kitchen cleanup activities.

    Essential Volunteer Functions:

    • Works under the guidance of Food Production Supervisors to package food items for Meals on Wheels: Using dishes or utensils to portion up food; placing single serving items in individual portion containers; placing a variety of food items in meal sacks.
    • Cleans kitchen utensils and work areas with direction provided by Supervisors in such a way as to be compliant with Health Department Sanitation Standards in the performance of all work duties.

Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, co-workers, volunteers and vendors in person and over the telephone.

    Calls a list of Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA) clients on a regular basis for a friendly chat to reduce isolation.

    • Calls a list of clients provided by TCOA for a friendly chat to reduce isolation.   • Volunteer Route Coordinator- Meals on Wheels

    General Responsibilities

    Responsible for scheduling of volunteer delivery drivers.

    Essential Volunteer Functions:

    (Reasonable accommodations will be provided, if necessary, for individuals with disabilities who can perform the essential job functions)
    • Contact volunteers on a monthly basis to set up the delivery schedule. Maintain delivery calendar.
    • Send the monthly calendar to the Meals on Wheels (MOW) office by the 15th of each month for the following month to ensure timely distribution of the calendars to the volunteers.
    • Provide clear and specific communication to the MOW office when unable to secure a delivery driver.
    • Have knowledge of the volunteers that are willing to fill in on short notice. Communicate that information to the MOW office.
    • Ensure that the MOW office is aware when a volunteer is unavailable for an extended period of time so the volunteer isn’t contacted.
    • Regularly compare the volunteer list with the list MOW office sends and make any necessary changes. Communicate changes to volunteer information
