The 2019 Run for the Ages – TCOA 5K was held on Saturday, May 18th at Hawk Island Park in Lansing. This year, a record 184 registered participants and dozens of volunteers helped make TCOA’s 6th annual Run for the Ages Walk/Run/Wheel event a success. Each year, the event benefits the Tri-County Office on Aging Meals on Wheels program and other in-home services that help promote and preserve the independence and dignity of older adults.
More than 1,100 people gathered on the Capitol Lawn on Wednesday, May 15 for the annual advocacy event, Older Michiganians Day. Older adults from all over Michigan gathered to rally for support of older adult services. To view the official platform, click here.
Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham counties (TCOA, Region 6) had over 80 older adult constituents in attendance! Thank you to all who participated.
About Older Michiganians Day: This advocacy event is a day for older adults and professionals from the statewide aging network to celebrate our growing senior population and consider policies and budget decisions that are senior friendly. Programming includes the presentation of a Senior of the Year award as well as remarks from state policy makers. State Representatives and Senators are invited to join us for lunch to talk with constituents.
