Ingham County Elder Services Millage

In August 2020, the Ingham County electorate authorized a county-wide elder services millage level of 3/10 one mill for a period of 4 years (2020-2023) to be used for the purpose of authorizing funding to eliminate wait lists and expanding critical services such as in-home care, meals on wheels and crisis services to support the growing population of persons aged 60 and older residing in Ingham County.

The Ingham County Elder Services Millage served 4,460 seniors in 2022.  Those services include:  Meals on Wheels (home-delivered meals and those served in dining sites), in-home services (Personal care, homemaking, and respite for caregivers), home modifications and repairs, chore services such as lawn care and snow removal, healthy aging and wellness activities, such as TCOA’s evidence-based programs like Chronic Pain and Diabetes workshops; crisis services for immediate needs such as utility and rent assistance, non-covered medical assistance to prevent serious health crises, information and assistance services to support the community with referrals and resource information, as well as to connect to TCOA services; legal services, including support of a long term care Ombudsman (care facility advocate).

If you think you would benefit from one or more of these services, are age 60 or older, and an Ingham County resident, call 517-887-1440 for assistance.
