FIXED
ROUTE SERVICE: CATA provides service on many fixed routes
throughout the metropolitan Lansing area for a regular fare of $1.25.
For seniors and persons with disabilities, CATA offers a CATAclub
card which allows discounted travel for 60¢ on all CATA regular
fixed-routes. CATAclub cards may be ordered by calling the CATA
information number at (517) 394-1000. ADA &
Medicare cards are also accepted. CATA also offers a 31 day bus
pass that is good for unlimited rides on all regular fixed-routes
at the cost of $18.00 for seniors and persons with disabilities,
and $35.00 for other adults.

Services:
Bus
Hailing Kits: Kits are available to customers with visual
impairments. Designed to use at bus stops served by more than one
route. The kits allow these individuals to signal the number of
their route to operators of approaching buses. The kit consists
of twenty-five, 3.5"x 4" double-sided cards with a route
number printed on each side. The route number is displayed on the
card in large, blue numbers and a corresponding route number Braille
tag is attached to each. Each set is held together with a lightweight
chain to allow customer to remove individual cards pertaining to
routes they use. Kits are offered on a free, checkout basis at the
following agencies:

CATA
encourages all customers to use their fixed route service. CATA
buses are equipped with wheelchair ramps or lifts for accessibility.
Service animales (i.e. guide dogs) accompanying our customers are
welcom on all CATA vehicles. Large print and audio versions of our
print schedules are also available.
For
those who cannot use fixed-route services, CATA provides Spec-Tran
service. Spec-Tran is CATA's advance reservation service for persons
with disabilities who have been certifed as eligible to use the
service in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
CATA
is advised on issues important to persons with disabilities by the
Local Advisory Committee (LAC). Meetings are held bi-monthly and
the public is welcome to attend. Call (517) 394-1100 for more information.
SPEC-TRAN:
Spec-Tran service is available to seniors who are unable to use
fixed-route services and are certified for the services according
to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service is provided
with mini vans and small, lift-equipped buses. Spec-Tran reservations
must be made at least the day before you want to travel
but can schedule up to 14 days in advance by calling 394-2282
from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Sunday, including holidays.
Please call 367-7272 to cancel a Spec-Tran ride. The fare is $2.50
for each one-way ride. Service hours: M-F 5:40
a.m to 11:05 p.m.; Sat. 8:15 a.m. to 10:50 p.m. Sun. 9:30 a.m. to
7:10 p.m. Service area: Available within 3/4 of
a mile on either side of any of CATA's fixed routes.
RURAL
SERVICE: an advance reservation, curb-to-curb service for
residents in the outlying areas of Ingham County, CATA Rural Service
provides rides Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM. One way
fares range from $1.00 to $1.50 for seniors based on the length

DELHI
REDI-RIDE:

line Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m and Sat. 8-5. To guarantee
a ride, call at least 4 hours in advance.
Meridian
Redi-Ride:
Call (517) 394-4178 at least 4 hours in advance of your desired
pick-up time. Demand response curb to curb service to travel within
Meridian Township or connect with CATA's fixed route services. Operates
from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but reservation line operates Monday
through Sat. from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cost is .60 for seniors
and persons with disabilities.
MASON
AND WILLIAMSTON REDI-RIDE: Call (517) 394-4178
or 1-800-322-1390 for immediate response service
in the cities of Mason area and Williamston. The bus will usually
arrive within about thirty minutes after you call for a ride. Operates
in from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday & Sat.
8:30-4 and in Mason and from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Monday through
Friday & Sat. 8:30-4 in Williamston. The fare on both services
is 60¢ for seniors and persons with disabilities.

Shopping
Bus:
provides regularly scheduled trips between 17 Lansing area senior
housing complexes and nine major shopping locations each week.Bus
fare is $2.00 round-trip (exact amount required). Reservations are

Services:
Public transportation for senior, persons with disabilities and
other county citizens.Call the day before for a ride. Same day calls
for bus service may be greatly affected by system capacity. Call
for more information or to schedule a ride. All vehicles are handicap
accessible with restraint systems. Loop route service in St. Johns
and DeWitt, which provides scheduled demand response service making
stops at stores, medical offices and other points of interest. Door
to door service is available at a higher rate with the driver assisting
out of the home and in to the destination. Caregivers are welcome
and ride free.
Call
dispatch for information on bus services into Ingham County. Persons
who are physcially able will be transferred to CATA routes.
Eligibility:
Clinton County residents with seniors age 61and over, persons with
disabilities medical runs, and workers have priority.
Cost:
Fares are based on travel miles. Call dispatch for information.

Services/Cost:
Gold
Card -Taxi Service for persons age 60+ who live in the
City of East Lansing. There is a one time sign up charge of $10.
This offers up to $20 a month for free taxi fare with Yellow or
Spartan Cab (482-1444). Each time the card is used you pay one-half
of the fare, and the Senior Center is billed by the cab company
for the other half. When our half of the fare exceeds the $20 montly
limit, you will receive a bill showing any balance due.

A demand-response public transportation program serving all of Eaton
County. Wheelchair lifts are available. Express commuter service
to downtown Lansing mornings and afternoons. Medical trips into
Lansing and East Lansing 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Minimum 24 hour notice needed but 48-hour preferred.
Eligibility:
Eaton County residents and the general public.
Cost:
$2.00 each way (seniors/handicap $1.00) within Eaton County. Medical
trips out-county $3.00

Emergency services, advanced life support, basic life support, and
out of town transports. Also, AMBU-CAB, a wheelchair van (lift equipped
service) for non-emergency transfer.
Eligibility:
Persons requiring life equipped service for non-medical transfers.
Cost:
May be covered by Medicare if admitted to a hospital or have ambulance
coverage. AmbuCab is private pay and rates vary.$35 one way/$70
for roundtrip (within 20 mile radius) &/or a $2 per mile average
thereafter.
