Services:
National program providing assistance to acquire free hearing aids
through an application and approval process. A network of hearing
health care professionals agree to fit identified recipients with
donated hearing aids. Eligible devices and services include hearing
aids and hearing aids fittings. In-the-ear, in-the-canal, behind-the-ear
and body style hearing aids are available.
Eligibility:
Must meet financial criteria, complete the application process and
be approved. Verification of the applicant's financial situation
and proof of a need for hearing aids are part of the process. Must
have a documented hearing loss severe enough to warrant the wearing
of hearing aids. A current audiogram, no more than 9 months old
is needed with the application.
Cost:
The applicant is responsible for the cost of the hearing evaluation
and a norminal processing fee. Also for the cost of batteries and
repairs.

Services:
Provides testing and hearing aids to individuals who are unable
to obtain services due to financial restrictions. Contact your local
Lions Club for information.
Eligibility:
Must meet income requirements and be unable to obtain services due
to financial restrictions. 2008 limits are: 1 person $20,420, 2
$27,280. Contact for limits on 3 or more persons. Information needed
with application: Medicare card (front & back); Medicaid card
(front & back); BCBS card (front & back); Social Security
number; Medicare Income Statement; W-2 Income tax form & total
family members in household.
Cost:
None if meets the income limit.

Information and assistance, public education, advocacy. Lending
library, sign language interpreter referral services. Programs for
children in leadership training, etc. Call for details. Accepts
used hearing aids, which are donated to the Lions Club. The Hearing
Aid Distribution Program-Eligible applicants can receive a prescribed
reconditioned hearing aid or amplified telephone or TTY at no charge
if low income.
