Capital Area Community Services (CACS) provides information and
referral, emergency services on a temporary basis, clothing, food,

Good used and new clothing, bedding, food orders on emergency basis
to those in need because of a disaster or personal crisis (e.g.
victims of fire, flood, tornado, etc.). Loan closet of hospital
equipment. Also offers health education classes and cooking schools
on occasion.

Persons in need. Need referral from Food Bank for food and from
Capital Area Community Services, etc. for clothing, bedding, etc.

Services:
Provides a variety of services to senior citizens including those
who only speak Spanish. These services include Information and Referral
on topics such as Social Security, SSI, Medicaid, Medicare, Food
Stamps, housing, health programs, property tax assistance and utility
assistance. Emergency prescription help may be available depending
on funding. Outreach service is provided to Spanish speaking senior
citizens to inform them of services and programs available. The
program also provides advocacy on behalf of senior citizens to insure
that they are receiving benefits they are entitled to. Also provides
other activities such as meals, music, arts and crafts, educational
classes (i.e. English as a second language). Transportation is provided
to medical appointments, Social Services, Nutrition program and
grocery shopping. Bilingual staff available.
Eligibility:
Spanish Speaking senior citizens age 60 and over.

None. Donations accepted.

community tasks.

at 1:00 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. Clinton county
produce distribution is every Thursday at 1:00 p.m.

Anyone. Need to have a picture ID (driver's license) and Social
Security number and the social security numbers of other adults
living in the home.

Provides financial support to senior citizens and individuals with
disabilities who do not qualify for any other existing agency support.
Funding will be available for prescriptions, hearing aids, homemaker
service, special equipment, dental work, eyeglasses and more. All
money will be paid directly to the company providing the service
of supplies to the client.
Cost:
None but must meet income/asset limits. Maximum income limits not
rigid but limit is approximately $1500 per month for one person
and $2500 for two. Asset limit is $4000 for one person and $8000
for two. To qualify income and assets must be verified.
