Services:
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) has a quarterly distribution
of food such as cereal, cooking oil, fruit juices, dried beans,
canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter raisins, etc. The Michigan
Commodity Supplemental Food Program (MCSFP) is available to eligible
seniors each month and consists of about 45 pounds of food per month.
Eligibility:
For TEFAP persons must be at or below 160% of poverty. For MCSFP
persons must be at or below 130% of poverty and be 60 years of age
or older.
Cost:
None. Donations accepted.

Services:
Program based on need not income. Recipients will be assigned a
location and time for distribution and may not get food from any
other site. Picture identification, proof of residence, and containers
for food are required. Most items are perishable foods near expiration
date that have been donated by grocery stores, such as breads, dairy,
produce, sweets and fresh produce.

Services:
Provides non-perishable food stuffs to Ingham county residents in
a crisis situation. Coordinates 31 food pantries located in churches,
agencies and community centers throughout the Greater Lansing area.
Eligibility:
Ingham county residents once in a 30 day period and 1 week after
food stamps in order to receive emergency food. Telephone inquires
only.

Services:
A hot, well-balanced meal generally delivered by volunteers at noon.
A sack lunch can also be delivered for the evening. Frozen meals
are available for weekends. Special diets include diabetic (no concentrated
sweet), no added salt, low fat or mechanically adjusted (ground
meat). Service area covers Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties, see
listing below.
Eligibility:
Homebound persons age 60 and over (spouse or full-time caregiver
included). Eligibility determined through an assessment.
Cost:
Suggested donation of $2.25 for the hot meal and $1.25 for the cold
sack lunch. Accepts food stamps.

Service:
Michigan's Coordinated Access to Food for the Elderly (MiCAFE) program
helps seniors get food. This program can sign you up for a Bridge
Card and teach you about healthy eating and food programs. The program
gives seniors money each month to buy food. This money comes on
a Bridge Card (like a credit card). You can use at most grocery
stores to buy fruit, meat, vegetables, milk, bread or other foods.
Eligibility:
Low income, age 60+ and Eaton County resident.

Provides hot, well-balanced meals in over 30 locations throughout
the community along with other services such as health screening,
physical fitness, nutrition education, special programs, and guest
speakers on various subjects such as legal assistance and information
and referral services. Some transportation to the sites is arranged
for those who need it.
Eligibility:
Any interested person is welcomed. Please call one day in advance
to reserve a meal. See information below for address, time, and
telephone number of each site or call Marion Miller at 887-1393.
Cost:
$2.00 suggested donation used to sustain the program. Persons under
60 pay $5.00 for their meal.
