Focus-
To provide respite for grandparents and other kin (55 years and older)
caring for children.
Purpose-
To give the caregiver a break from parenting and assist them in paying
for respite relief. Examples include sending the child to a sports camp,
day care or an extracurricular activity.
Goal
- To provide rest, relief and a break from the everyday routine of caregiving.
Eligibility
- Serves for grandparents and other elderly kin in Clinton, Eaton and
Ingham Counties. The caregiver must be 55 years of age or older and
the child must be 17 years of age or younger.
Income-
Those without other resources will have first priority
Referrals
- May come from the person themselves, friends, neighbors, agencies
and others in the community.
